Pink Ball– Live in Passion (23 October 2009)
On 23rd, HK Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry (The Registry) had successfully held the 2nd annual gala event Pink Ball – Live in Passion at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Hong Kong with over 300 devoted dance aficionados joining us to raise funds and awareness of hereditary breast cancer. Opening remarks were delivered by the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Sophie LEUNG LAU Yau-fun, GBS, JP, and chairman Dr. Ava Kwong, who received tremendous support upon the vision and achievements of The Registry. HK Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry deeply appreciated the loyal support of Estēe Lauder Companies, the major sponsor who conclusively given us the opportunity to join forces and strengthen our mission: ‘When Cancer runs in the Family, We Care, We Help and We Change'.

The highlight of the evening was soared through the passionate charity dance performance commissioned by Dr. Ronald Lu and Ms. Gaynor Fairweather who captured the heart of all our distinguished guests inside the grand ballroom. As the charity dance performance sets the tone of the dance floor, the guests were intrigued by a professional dance performance of Mr. Paul Killick and teammates which added an authentic and theatrical touch into the night.

With the generous contribution of our patrons, the funds raised from the gala event would be dedicated to support patients and their families who are underprivileged and at high-risk of hereditary breast cancer through the Hong Kong Hereditary and High Risk Breast Cancer Programme (HRBCP). In addition and more importantly, support will also be given to academic research to identify the epidemiological significance of hereditary factors in families in relation to the risk of breast cancer.
