Join the Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry
The Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry has witnessed an increasing number of high-risk breast cancer women's lives at an early stage, when it can be treated more successfully.

Helping yourself
To receive genetic counseling, risk assessment and genetic testing, register to the registry now. Advice on risk reduction, preventative management or intensive surveillance will be given to high risk individuals. The registry also aims at opening a channel of access so that updated information can be disseminated.

Helping your family
As we pursue cures for major diseases, we must also work to safeguard the health of the young and minority groups. For those who belong to a high risk family, or have a family member who carries the BRCA mutation, the understanding of the risk and benefits of genetic test ing would help improve decisions on risk management of your family.

The Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry gives advice on risk reduction, preventative management and intensive surveillance. Access to updated information on research work on hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndromes and other genetic studies performed will be made available so that high risk families can be kept informed. The registry also aims to keep I touch with families who carry the mutated gene so that the most updated information on the advances in management hereditary cancers can be given to achieve the best outcomes for these high risk families.

Helping others
By joining the registry and participating in the clinical research studies of BRCA mutation and related studies, the underlying cause and prognosis of high risk breast cancer in Asian families can be better understood. By giving us the access to your family and medical history and donation of blood samples, a numerous number of high risk families will be benefited. In addition, research studies are not only being performed in Asian population but collaborative research will be undertaken with renowned international centers such as Stanford University School of Medicine to further the understanding of ethnic differences, genetic and environmental influences which results in breast cancer.


  1. Please join the Registry so that you and your family can be kept informed of the latest advances in management of hereditary cancer syndromes. We welcome you and your family ieven if your test have been performed elsewhere and not with the HRBCP.
  2. Participate in the HK Hereditary and High Risk Breast Cancer Programme if you have not already been tested.
